Dr. Karla Burkholder

About

Dr. Karla Burkholder is a dedicated educator, nonprofit leader, and community advocate who is passionate about serving others and creating opportunities for meaningful impact. She has more than 30 years in education and leadership, most recently as the Director of Technology at Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD near San Antonio and Professor of Practice at Baylor University.

Retired from public education, she currently serves as Deputy Executive Director of Texas Education Technology Leaders supporting K-12 technology leaders through professional learning, leadership development, and cybersecurity, data privacy and artificial intelligence initiatives. Her career has been centered on building partnerships, empowering others, and creating innovative opportunities to enhance student learning and improve outcomes.

Karla is honored to serve alongside fellow board members who share a commitment to strengthening their community through compassion and action. She brings a collaborative spirit, strategic leadership experience, and a deep belief in the power of people working together to make a difference. As Board Secretary of Ladies for a Cause, Karla is committed to advancing the organization's mission of supporting individuals and families in need through service, outreach, and community engagement.

Karla was born and raised in Northeast Tarrant County and currently resides in Little Elm with her husband Stacy and their two dogs Duke and Sara. She has two children, Matt and Lauren, son-in-love Jameson and the light of her life granddaughter Ripley.
